Virgin Orbit ready for historic UK launch after spaceport secures license

A U.Ok. spaceport that may host the primary Virgin Orbit launch from non-American soil has acquired a license from the U.Ok. nationwide regulator, clearing the best way for what would be the first ever European orbital liftoff.

Spaceport Cornwall, a transformed airport within the southwest of England, is now all set for what would be the first orbital launch from the U.Ok. The U.Ok. Civil Aviation Authority issued a spaceport license to the airport, in Newquay on the British west coast, on Wednesday (Nov. 16) after the airport demonstrated compliance with “statutory necessities on security, safety, surroundings and different elements,” the U.Ok. House Company stated in a statement (opens in new tab).
