See the moon cozy up to Uranus tonight (Nov. 8)

On Tuesday (Nov. 8), Uranus will disappear from the night time sky for a quick interval because the moon passes in entrance of the distant and faint ice giant planet. The occasion is what astronomers name a lunar occultation and it will likely be seen from northern America and elements of Asia.

The lunar occultation will begin at 7:39 a.m. EST (1239 GMT) when Uranus  — the seventh planet from the sun  —  begins to fade behind the moon. Because the lunar occultation begins Uranus will probably be within the constellation of Aries and can have a right ascension of 02h57m00s and declination of 16 levels N, in accordance with In the Sky (opens in new tab).
