Astronomer and solar eclipse expert Jay Pasachoff dies at age 79



Jay Pasachoff, an astronomer who traveled the globe for over 50 years to witness 74 solar eclipses and was one of many world’s main specialists in these sky sights, has died on the age of 79. 

Pasachoff, the Subject Memorial Professor of Astronomy and Director of the Hopkins Observatory at Williams Faculty, handed away at his residence in Williamstown, Massachusetts, on Sunday (Nov. 20). His spouse Naomi Pasachoff recognized lung most cancers as the reason for demise.
