NASA seeks new rockets for hurricane satellite launches after Astra failures



Citing “pressing” hurricane-tracking satellite wants, NASA is on the hunt for brand new rockets after a launch effort did not ship two cubesats to space in June.

NASA is asking extra firms to bid for launching its TROPICS satellite line in 2023 after its preliminary supplier, Astra, lost a rocket carrying two TROPICS cubesats through the debut launch on June 12. (The trigger stays underneath investigation.)
