Supernova is the bright explosion of star.
If massive star runs out of fuel it leads to supernova.
Cause of supernova
After star running out of fuel, inside pressure is decreases and gravity increases leads to collapsing of star.

Star is collapse is so fast that it produce strong shock waves causes explode of star.
